Fairmont Mayakoba: Riviera Maya, Mexico

I feel like traveling.  How about you?  The Fairmont Mayakoba in Riviera Maya, Mexico sounds and looks like the perfect Mexico vacation. It was ranked by U.S. News as one of the Best Hotels in Mexico for 2017.

As summer vacation planning takes place, I’m dreaming of a warm, tropical vacation where I can just relax, eat good food, and surround myself in luxury. Having been to the Riviera Maya once, I am hoping I can return again soon. I stayed at the Grand Velas Riviera Maya and had an amazing time. Mexico has a coastline of 10,000 km and offers more than 450 beaches overlooking Pacific Ocean, Gulf of Mexico, Gulf of California and the Caribbean Sea. Which beach is the best one for you depends on what you’re seeking. Mexican beaches offer different activities, climates, and points of interest.  You’ll find many resort towns along the Caribbean and Pacific coasts. Hopefully soon I’ll get to also try the Pacific coast of Mexico.

If you have never been to the Riviera Maya before you probably have heard about it.  It’s a tropical Mexican getaway located about 40 miles south of Cancun and nestled between the Caribbean Sea and the Xcaret wildlife and nature reserve. You’ll fly into the Cancun airport, take a short ride to your resort, and then get lost in pure luxury and beautiful scenery. Families, celebrities, couples, and singles have been enjoying the Riviera Maya for decades.

The Fairmont Mayakoba Resort is family friendly and offers a  Family Adventure package with breakfast, cooking lessons, kids activities, spa & golf.  For the fitness buffs, there is a Boot Camp Spa Package that allows you to indulge and burn off some calories.  I’m not sure which package I’ll take but it doesn’t really matter. My 40th birthday is coming up and I already have a girlfriend trip planned. I would love to do something with the kids, perhaps in early summer.
