I love a good happy hour, cocktail party, and something handcrafted and unique. I look forward to happy hour on the weekends or mid-week if, I’m lucky.
The happy hour scene in Jacksonville varies by day of the week and part of town. While the scene here isn’t exactly Washington D.C. or Miami, you’re in for a treat. There are some great restaurants offering handcrafted goodness in a glass with good food to accompany it.
I listed some of my favorite places for happy hour in Jacksonville from Downtown to the Jax Beaches. Be sure to leave your favorite Jax happy hour in the comments below as I love exploring new places and new people!
The Volstead
If you love handcrafted bourbon or whisky cocktails then you’ll love The Volstead. The Volstead is a hipster type lounge with speakeasy feel located right in the heart of downtown that specializes in craft bourbon and whiskey cocktails. The decor is just as cool. If you like whisky or want to explore some whisky cocktails, try The Jam. You’ll thank me later.
BRIO Tuscan Grille
BRIO”s happy hour prices might just be the best price in town. Centrally located at the Town Center, this is a great place to go after work any day of the week. Cocktails start at $3.95 and so do the appetizers. You can have a great time and leave full for under $20.00. Get there early though. Happy hour ends at 6:30 p.m. and is only during the week.
The Candy Apple Cafe & Cocktails
The Candy Apple Cafe in downtown offers some of the best cocktails in Jacksonville in a chic and whimsical setting. Tuesday through Friday you’re sure to get some unique handcrafted cocktails and bubbly. A glass of bubbly is just $4.00 and local beer is just 2 for 1. Their bar food is delicious but happy hour prices aren’t that great. You’ll definitely leave there feeling happy so add this restaurant to must go to list for happy hour.
Orsay
Orsay recently started its late night happy hour offering classic cocktails featuring premium spirits such as Hendrick’s Gin, Russell’s Reserve 10 Year Bourbon, and Milagro Tequila all for just $8.00. If you’re in the mood for a digestif (think Cognac, Armagnac) they are just $6.00. With the late night happy hour comes some tasty menu options like the raw bar, house-made charcuterie, tartes flambees, and more. Late night is every Thursday, Friday & Saturday starting at 10 p.m.
Flying Iguana
Flying Iguana in Atlantic Beach has a great, late night happy hour. From 9 p.m. until closing, the house Margarita is just $5.00. Coupled with their delicious chips and salsa (with two fresh made salsa options) you’re fiesta is just getting started. There’s also live music playing some top 40 favorites.
“Let the good times fly.” Yes indeed. #cocktails #happyhour
