With summer vacation behind us and the holiday season approaching, now is a good time to think about holiday vacations and accommodations. This summer, we were lucky enough to get the full Camp Omni experience at the Omni Orlando Resort at Champions Gate and we absolutely loved it. Our family loves traveling and road trips so when this opportunity presented itself, we couldn’t wait for the experience that awaited us. The accommodations, level of personal service the kids received, and the fact that the hotel is pet friendly made this stay a great mini-vacation for us- we loved it!
The personal service started several days before our stay. We received a phone call from our Camp Omni concierge located within the resort. I loved that he was at the hotel rather than a call center so he knew the hotel’s in and outs. I then asked the concierge the silly question, “What is Camp Omni?” I had read about it but I wasn’t exactly sure what took place during the Camp Omni experience. The concierge answered all of my questions and explained that Camp Omni wasn’t a day camp like I initially thought, but instead, it involves some resort activities during the day for kids and the best part for Mom, Dad, and the kids, is that Camp Omni is an evening drop off/pick up service for kids ages 4-12 years old. In other words, you drop off your kids so that you can have down time, a date night, or whatever you heart desires- love it! During Camp Omni, kids watch movies, do crafts, eat dinner, play video games, and of course, play with other kids that may be there. Meanwhile, the parents get a little down time during the family vacation. We booked our reservation for our Camp Omni night and then I also made dinner reservations for the Hubs and I.
I finalized all the details in just a few minutes and couldn’t wait for our trip. When Friday came around, we were on the road and at the resort as soon as we could check-in. The personal service started as soon as we arrived. The kids received a cute, Camp Omni adventure backpack filled with all the tools an adventurer would want. A map of the resort, compass, microscope, snacks, and other goodies.
We enjoyed the resort that night and when we returned back to our rooms, the kids were super excited about the milk and cookies that had been delivered to our room with a basket full of snacks as well. Another Camp Omni perk!
The next day, we spent the morning and afternoon at the resort enjoying the lazy river, pools, beautiful weather, and just hanging out. That night, the kids did Camp Omni and the Hubs and I had a date night that ended with some cocktails and dessert at Downtown Disney. We all had such a great time that weekend we were sad to pack up and leave on Sunday. But as I told my kids, we will definitely be back for another Camp Omni experience.
