How to Have a Spa Day at Home with Girlfriends

Thinking about planning a spa day at home with your girlfriends but not sure what to do? I love spending quality girl time with my friends. We sometimes head to the beach,  go out for happy hour, or meet up for a night of dancing.

If you’re due for some girl time, consider hosting a spa day or girls night in event.

Planning and hosting a spa day at home does not have to be difficult. In fact it can be lots of fun coming up with ideas and seeing them come to life on that special day. Your spa party does not have to be expensive either.  To help eliminate cost you can ask your friends to bring one or two low cost supplies. Checkout these other tips for planning a spectacular day with friends:

What type of services can you offer for your Spa Day party?

You can provide facials, pedicures, manicures, and even a massage.

What supplies will you need?

For facials, you’ll need facial soap, toner, a cleansing cream and cleansing scrub. To take it a step further you could also offer a clay mask for deep down facial cleaning. This mud mask is one of my favorites.

For manicures, you should get emery boards; nail buffer, cotton balls, cuticle remover cream, nail polish remover, nail polish, and bowl of warm water. In the bowl of water put in an about 1 tablespoon of bath salt for extra moisturizer and don’t forget about hand lotion and towels.

For pedicure, you will need cotton pads, acetone free polish remover, pumice stone, exfoliating scrub, toenail clipper, nail file, cuticle tool, cuticle remover, cuticle trimmer, moisturizer and polish.

If your budget will allow it, you can hire a masseuse that will massage your friends. Typically a masseuse will bring the necessary supplies such as table, oils, etc. So there is no need to purchase anything for this service.

Light food and drinks will definitely be needed as well.  You can offer quick snacks such as fruit salad, bacon wrapped dates, or finger sandwiches. Want to kick the spa day up a notch? Try my delicious grapefruit margaritas or make a mimosa. Make sure you offer plenty of water, infused with fruits.

Now it’s time to “spa- party!

Once you have all the things ready, make the seating arrangements for pedicures, manicures, facials and massage. All this should be done before your friends arrive. Light the candles about 20-30 minutes before they come so that the air is scented with the fragrance. You can also make use of some good music.

When everyone has arrived and have relaxed you can start the party!  First, ask everyone to put on her robe and slippers. You can designate someone to help with pedicures/manicures and facials or for more interaction, why not have them do each other’s, face, nails and toes? This is a great way to get everyone involved and participating.

Since it will take time for the polish to dry after a manicure/pedicure this would be a good time to offer beverages. Snacks or a light meal can be served too as long as it will not interfere with they’re newly painted nails.

Once all services have been performed you can pop in a good movie or watch a show on TV. But most likely you and your girlfriends will really enjoy some much needed girl talk.  Your home spa day is a perfect time to show your love and appreciation to your friends and enjoy the company of each other. And most importantly don’t forget to have fun!
