My Life Defined By Shoes

I know the expression is usually, “I wear many different hats.” Since I am more of a shoe girl, I like to think more in terms of the different types of shoes I wear throughout the day- and week by week. Each day I’m defined differently by the type of shoe I put on that morning. One type of shoe means I’m in one kind of mode, work mode, play mode, mompreneur mode, you name it.

I have my lawyer pumps; not too tall but a nice professional heel that reflects my own personal style. Since I’m not in court, but in the classroom on most days, I can be a little daring. So I go for it. And why not? Life’s too short.   I have a similar pair of shoes to the pump below, I love pairing it with black pant suit.

Then there are my mom shoes, usually a wedge or strappy sandal and not too tall so that I can keep up, but definitely stylish.  I know many moms give up style when they have children or are with their children.  So not me.

Then there are my running shoes, always in my car sitting in my gym bag in case I can squeeze in a run or workout throughout my hectic day.  My favorite running shoes are Newton– so colorful and comfortable.

My girls-just-want-to-have fun shoes.  These are what I like to wear when catching a few cocktails with my friends.   Put a pair of shoes like this on and suddenly, all  your troubles disappear.

Last are my social media shoes.  Theses shoes aren’t exactly defined but they can be a combo of any of the above.  Social media is the part of my day that I can do from pretty much any where.   At Starbucks waiting for kids to get out of school, in the car during a road trip, at the beach, networking at a function, etc.  It’s the most mobile part of my life and one that I really love.
